US Wealth Is Mainly Debt Fueled Asset Price Hike

The United States stays on top over the last two decades, but with a thinner margin. The U.S. share fell after 2000, rebounded post-pandemic, and now sits at approximately 35%.

China’s rose from just 3.1% in 2000 to roughly 20% today, by far the biggest gain of any country.

Shifting middle tier: Japan’s stake has shrunk by two-thirds, while India has climbed from less than 1% to 3.4%, edging ahead of France and nearly matching the UK and Germany.
