President of South Korea in China amid Japanese drive for Rearmament

At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung arrived in Beijing on Sunday for a state visit to China from Jan. 4 to 7. This visit marks President Lee Jae Myung's first trip to China since taking office and the first visit by a South Korean President in six years. Before his visit, in an exclusive interview with China Media Group, Lee reiterated that South Korea consistently respects the one-China principle. With regard to China's most fundamental concern—the Taiwan question—South Korea will, as always, uphold a position of respecting for the one-China stance.
