US has no money & with inferior weapons: Donald Trump halted the US-UK bombing of the Houthis in Yemen after realizing that US$1 billion had been spent in the first 30 days, the New York Times reported this morning.
Multiple manned and unmanned aircraft were lost in the operation at massive cost to the US taxpayer.
Also, Pentagon officials said they were using up weapons that had been earmarked for fighting against China. (The US has long planned to goad China into war with “defending Taiwan” as the designated “casus belli”, a classical military term for “officially declared excuse”).
PLANES ‘FALLING OFF’ CARRIER
After a second US$60 million aircraft fell off an aircraft carrier last week, Trump had had enough.
So even though he had promised that the Houthis would be “completely annihilated”, Trump told the military to stop even trying. They grounded their aircraft, but of course declared victory for the US, although it was clearly a capitulation.
The Houthis agreed to halt their attacks on US ships—but pointedly said that any ship providing goods for use of the Israeli army in the ongoing slaughter in Gaza would remain valid targets.
ADMIRING TONE
The Houthis have become heroes to many, for being the only group in the world to take practical action to help the trapped, bombed populace of Gaza.
Not to mention the fact that one of the poorest nations on earth was standing up to the military of the wealthy US and UK.
The New York Times noted that even the US President spoke about them in an admiring tone.
“We hit them very hard and they had a great ability to withstand punishment,” Trump said. “You could say there was a lot of bravery there.”
